Client details
AEPM (Association Européenne Payez Mobile) was set up in October 2008 in order to promote and accelerate the deployment of contactless mobile payment in Europe by developing specifications and carrying out field trials in Caen and Strasbourg. Six large banks (BNP Paribas, Groupe Crédit Mutuel-CIC, Crédit Agricole and LCL, Groupe Caisse d’Epargne , La Banque Postale and Société Générale) and four mobile operators (Bouygues Telecom, Orange, SFR) launch a joint field trial, known as “Payez Mobile”, to test a mobile contactless payment service.
Project details
The AEPM asked us to redesign, define and test a noname UI for the mobile service. We defined a comprehensive approach, focusing on the users' real needs:
- Expert review of an onboard prototype designed by the EMPA,
- Definition, recommendations and design of the main user tasks,
- Prototyping of the application on a Sony-Ericsson W580i
- Qualitative user testing (32 users reviewed) in Paris and Strasbourg
- Writing of the functional specifications
Axance provided practical recommendations, based on observed usage, user expectations and technical constraints.
Testimonial
"The ten members of the EMPA thank the Axance's team for its delivery of quality and availability throughout the mission, for sharing its knowledge of the telecom sector, its expertise in mobile usability and the effectiveness of its testing process. That's how Axance made well informed recommendations and pieces of advice. The EMPA was able to make the best choices, so that banks and operators are able, ultimately, to provide their customers with contactless mobile payment solution as intuitive and simple as possible."
