Hétic is a young but growing-fast private school based close to Paris, France. That's where I graduated and got a master degree called "Expert in Web engineering, management and digital services". The school's key of success can be found in 3 things : the diversification of the syllabus, the quality of the teachers and consultants, the various professional projects that students have to take part.

The Coffee Grid
On the last year of the hétic school, each student has to take part in a project where they start a company. If they are willing to, they can go to through the whole process once they graduate. Thus, I worked with three colleagues of mine, we developed a whole concept, put up a business plan, and realized a prototype that we could introduce to investors. This project was successfully carried out and everybody was so committed. This project was very rewarding for me whether it is about project experience or business setting up or team spirit.
Our project was about an online money game where gamers could win high tech prizes. Here follow the rules: for each prize is a grid with a certain number of squares. To be able to play, the user has to buy credits. Once the grid is fully completed, the winning square is revealed and the user who bid his credits on it wins the prize.
The success of this project is based on 3 major factors. The first one regards the law. Indeed, in France games of chance or money are forbidden and dedicated to the Francaise des Jeux. Yet, several practices give us the opportunity to get round the law. Our business plan included a detailed action plan to go round this problem. The second factor is about economic success since such a project only becomes profitable once a certain number of players is acquired. Again, in our business plan, we detailed the promotion part of the game and how we would bring traffic to our website. Finally, the last factor regards the technical realisation since the grids have to be updated in real time. For this problem, Nicolas realized a fully functional / practicable prototype using Red5 technology.
This project was warmly welcomed by the business angels who were invited for the presentation. But the members of this project decided to focus on their personnal careers and thus, the project was aborted.
Disclaimer
e-maujean.net is not a web design studio but my personal online portfolio. Most of the showcased works were created while working under my past and present full-time employers, who solely own the rights to these materials. Moreover, most of these projects were run in a team effort, with the help of many smart people. That means I’m definetely not the only one to congrat for the good work.
